Our new reading area is a cosy and comfortable space where children get lots of opportunities to sit down either by themselves, with a friend, as a group or with their Year 6 buddy to enjoy lots of different genres of books.

We have a range of books available to the children including fiction, non fiction and poetry as well as a, 'books we love' section where the children choose which books they would like to put in. 

As well as enjoying reading, the children also get to role play their favourite stories or make up their own as we have a range of puppets, masks and decorated wooden spoons for the children to use. 

The book corner is open throughout the day as part of our continuous provision and we encourage all children to access it. 

At the end of the day we will also read a book from our reading area; usually chosen by a class vote.
